    All Music Guide Review

Stop Handgun Violence is a benefit album for the charity of the same name, featuring mostly artists who would be at home on both alternative and adult alternative rock radio. Most of the 19 tracks were previously released, featuring hits like Sixpence None the Richer's "Kiss Me" and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy's "Go Daddy-O," but there are also five previously unreleased songs from artists like Fastball, Toad the Wet Sprocket, and Hootie and the Blowfish; other artists present include Ben Folds Five, Cake, Sugar Ray, and Marcy Playground. Some of the selections do have an explicit anti-violence message, but many are simply devoted to uplifting good vibes. At any rate, it's fairly consistent, and probably worth the time (and financial support) of fans of this style of music. ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide
