Metallica has launched a special Web site, http://www.missionmetallica.com, in advance of its first album in five years. Fans are encouraged to check the page for exclusive content, including previews clips and "platinum" level contests, downloads, ringtones and more. A cost for the premium version of the site hasn't been revealed yet, but the album's release has been set for September.
A world tour begins Wednesday at Los Angeles Wiltern Theater, with a European leg starting on May 28 in Chorzow, Poland.
